It is a sad day in the Hanson community.
Two beloved long time friends, Mr.
Lou DeLancey and Mr. Bill McLay have sailed
beyond. Both were instrumental in starting and keeping the Reunions going (see the Newsletter about Lou). Bill was on the Steering Committee and did all the Newsletter, etc for the Reunion.
They both will be missed greatly. Our
thoughts and prayers go to their families.

About the USS Hanson's web administrator
Carl "Arkie" Pearson is our new administrator. Arkie served aboard the Hanson from April 53 to
April 57 and was a CS2 when he was discharged.
After his discharge from the Navy, Carl enrolled
and graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in 1962 and Southwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary in May 1963. He was called to the pastorate of the First Baptist Church, Danville,
Arkansas until September 1969 when he returned to the Navy as a chaplain. While on active duty,
he received a Doctor of Ministry degree from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary,
Philadelphia, PA in Marriage & Family Counseling.
Carl retired from the Navy in 1995
with over 30 years of combined service to God and country.
In 1995 he was asked to serve as
pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Milton, Fl and did until he again retired in 2004.
